Welcome
Happy New Year. The students will be working hard in 2010 and will be learning many new things. They have been using the Smartboard and laptops in the classroom which allow students to enrich learning through the use of technology.
The students are working in small group centers in both reading and math. Leveled activities are geared toward meeting the needs of each individual student.
Please be sure to check your child’s bookbag each day for forms to be signed and information sent home from school.
Fifth grade is a transitional year for the students and we are preparing them for middle school. Mrs. Hovanec, Mrs. Peralta, Ms. Lerner, and I are striving to have the students assume responsibility, and to develop strong organizational skills, sound work habits, study skills.
